I’d suggest using an Image Optimization plugin to help make the images load faster for a better experience while exploring the blog posts. The homepage has some special features if you mimic the demo version with the detailed instructions.
This theme comes with a sticky menu bar that has a cool special effect when hovering over images; there is also an Instagram gallery in the footer. There are several widgets to set up for the homepage but the finished product is amazing as you will see on the demo blog. The featured images on the blog posts are huge which is why I suggest touching up on any image you plan on uploading. You can even Lazy Load images for a nice effect and increased page speed.
