Have you ever wondered what theme a blog was using? Keep in mind some bloggers have custom themes and premium themes that they modify; so, purchasing the same theme might not give you the exact look, however, the concept will be the same. I recommend using WPTheme Detector when trying to find out what theme a blog is using. Note, there are other sites you can use but they tend to not be as reliable and provide less information about the blog.
Let’s get into the websites you can use:
WPTheme Detector
The WPTheme Detector website is my number 1 source for checking other blogs for themes or plugins that they are using.
To give you an idea of what the results look like, here are some screenshots from a blog I checked.
Themify has a ton of premium themes. You might have noticed from the screenshots above that the theme of the blog I had searched was out of date. I highly recommend getting the newest version of any theme you purchase. Most updates are to fix security blogs and bring the coding up to the latest WordPress and search engine standards. You might even get new features with the update!
At this time, either the Genesis Framework themes or any theme from MyThemeShop is what I would recommend any day of the week. They have premium, yet affordable themes with plugins suited for each theme.
If you are looking for ways to improve your existing theme, check out our Plugins Page for some excellent ways to spice up your blog.
Final Thoughts
Although there are other sites and services out there that say they can identify a blog’s theme, my experience has shown me that WPTheme Detector is the most consistent and trustworthy. Other services I have tried couldn’t even pick up the most basic blog themes. If you are looking for a custom theme, let me know and I’ll recommend some freelance websites that I hire from and provide good services.

Thanks. Now I know the easy to detect other people theme. As before, I always check their footer or page source.
